Conveyor & Controls Operator

We are looking for a Conveyor & Controls Operator to join our team in North Charleston area, SC. As a Conveyor & Controls Operator, you will ensure daily production requirements are obtained, maintain, update, and improve processes and equipment functions, and collaborate effectively with engineers and maintenance teams. 

Responsibilities

  • Oversee operations of the electric monorail system and the line conveyor system
  • Analyze and correct system failures in the PLC (Control), and smaller mechanical and electrical failures 
  • Perform plant and machinery upgrades for non-standard cases, test parts, new parts and prototypes without plans in some cases
  • If necessary, create complex upgrade plans for non-standard processes
  • Identify, analyze, suggest countermeasures, assign and partner with connected areas of expertise to correct issues
  • Perform failure analysis on manufacturing processes  
  • Read and interpret diagrams and blueprints
  • Monitor and set up machinery for optimal performance
  • May assist in the procurement and construction of new machinery and equipment, provide valuable/relevant input in decision making
  • Daily equipment checks, monitoring equipment performance
  • Be involved with optimizing resources and installations (idea generation and planning)
  • Perform cycle time analysis and optimize as needed  

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required 
  • Required: 4+ years relevant experience or relevant higher education degree
  • Knowledgeable in automation equipment and mechanical repairs
  • Expert PLC / BUS system (Siemens, Integra5) education and/or experience strongly required  
  • Basic Knowledge of industrial AC/DC electricity [24V – 480V], mechanical, hydraulics, and/or pneumatics required
  • Basic computer skills required (i.e. Microsoft Office, email) 
  • Strong communications skills (listening, speaking, writing) and problem solving skills
